Gobelins are tapestries, hand-stitched by skilled craftsmen/craftswomen. Gobelins are usually inspired from famous paintings or religious art.
What is PPT?
There are two techniques used for stitching gobelins. Petit Point 1:1 is when each symbol from the chart equals one stitch. Petit Point 1:4 means that each symbol would equal four stitches arranged in a square. Generally, gobelins done in PPT 1:1 look more detailed.

Founded in Berlin by Jakobs Wiehler, the Wiehler Gobelin Catalogue has been going strong since 1st of April, 1893. For the past 100 years it has featured quality work based mostly on classical paintings. Today, the Wiehler Catalogue has become immensely popular in Germany, Austria, the Balkans and Russia.
